Dr. Esra Zıvralı Yarar completed her undergraduate studies in the Department of Psychology at Hacettepe University, graduating 1st in her class in 2010. She then worked as a research assistant in the Department of Psychiatry at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, where she took part in various studies focusing on psychopathology and cognitive processes, including the European Union–funded European Network of National Schizophrenia Networks Studying Gene-Environment Interactions (EUGEI) project.
She completed her master’s (2013) and PhD (2017) degrees at King’s College London, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN) within the Social, Genetic and Developmental Psychiatry program. During her graduate studies, she conducted research on risk/protective factors and co-occurring conditions in autism spectrum disorder.
She completed her clinical placement and supervision at the Maudsley Hospital Behavioral Genetics Clinic, which provides assessment services for autism and comorbid conditions, as well as therapeutic interventions.
Since 2018, she has been a faculty member in the Department of Psychology at Social Sciences University of Ankara.
